How long Forever Ago takes

Reviews describe nine chapters and about three to five hours, with one playthrough taking about five hours.

David Burdette's GamingTrend review, dated September 29, 2026, of an early PS5 copy, says the game spans 9 chapters and can be completed in 3 to 5 hours. The Tom's Guide article says one careful playthrough took about five hours. Neither figure is a measurement from this site.

The Into Indie Games walkthrough table of contents lists nine stops: Woolson Falls, Karl's Pump 'N' Mart, Highway Star Diner, On The Road Back Home, The Sam Detour, Captain Marley and the Buccaneers' Retreat, Winslow Lighthouse, Williamina Peak, and the Epilogue. That matches the nine-chapter count.

GamingTrend also says that after the ending you can return with chapter select, and that starting a new game overwrites the current file. Read the save warning before you plan those return visits. The chapter pages are the place for what to do in each stop.
